ExploringEmotion

Threadbare

A portfolio of work compiled for my International Baccalaureate Art Class, 2010 – 2012.

I explored how people express, communicate, and represent emotions through symbols, facial expressions, body language and other methods.

All Smiles won second place and congressional recognition in the 2012 Congressional Art Show (for Colorado district 7). I was honored to have my piece hang in the State Board of Education Office in Denver, Colorado for one year

These photos are a part of a piece called Skin is a Canvas, in which I projected these images of my face, played in a looped slideshow, onto an expressionless plaster cast of my face. I aimed to explore a small sample of the incredible versatility of our faces to help us communicate our thoughts and feelings to the outside world.
