I keep a journal for many reasons: to practice observing and appreciating the natural world, to process experiences and emotions, to record memories and thoughts, and to exercise mindfulness or creativity. Occasionally, I pull poetry from my journal entries. I have published a handful of pieces individually through Duke University's Eno Magazine. I am also working on a publication of collected works.
